Tomo Campbell's abstracted forms are fluid and suggestive, blending figuration with layers of textured brushstrokes to form dramatically singular images. By balancing activity with stasis and confidence with doubt, these artworks occupy a fertile space somewhere between the known and the undiscovered. With each of his paintings evolving from a predecessor, Campbell evokes the subconscious by not necessarily knowing which elements will reoccur and in what way. The artist’s latest paintings explore novel possibilities in his medium and the act of storytelling through the existential process of choice versus chance.

Tomo Campbell was born in London, UK, where he currently resides. He earned his BA from Central Saint Martins, also in London.

Campbell has mounted solo exhibitions at Q Contemporary Gallery in Hong Kong, China (2022); County Gallery in Palm Beach, FL (2021); and Cob Gallery, London, UK, among others.

He has been included in the recent group exhibitions Veil at Arusha Gallery in Edinburgh, Scotland (2018); Glimpse, curated by Tomo Campbell, at Golborne Gallery in London, UK (2017); and Glorious Abandon at Dynamite Projects, Redhill, UK (2016).
