SITUATIONS presents Abdolreza Aminlari and Faye Wei Wei in a shared booth with FIERMAN. The works are united by their acute attention to surface treatment, with an emphasis on the individual’s expression and imagination. Aminlari uses geometric patterning and embroidery in 24-karat gold thread on handmade paper, while Wei Wei’s new form of romanticism is expressed through thin layers of washy paint on canvas. The boundaries of Wei Wei’s figures dissolve into the either and revolve around spiritual iconography, classical myth, love rituals and the theatricality of gender.
