Peter Spanjer Nigerian, b. 1994

Biography
Peter Spanjer is a Nigerian filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist, currently living and working in London. Using immersive and mixed media that combine experimental filmmaking, sound and text, Peter’s work is an intersection that weaves together ideas surrounding identity, sensuality, and reimagining the way we view the black body.
 
Peter Spanjer (b.1994 Bremen, Germany) lives and works in London, UK. His artwork has been exhibited and screened at Cob Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery, York Art Gallery, The Turner Contemporary, 180 Strand, Somerset House, White Cube, Goldsmiths CCA, Circa, Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Division of Labour,  Kristin Hjellegjerde, amongst other galleries. He held his debut solo show at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery (2020) and has since completed other solo shows held at Cob Gallery, inter.plc Gallery in Copenhagen, Denmark, Shoreditch Arts Club, London and Screw Gallery in Leeds.
