Frieze London, 2026: Katelyn Eichwald

Cob presents a focused yet expansive solo installation of paintings by Katelyn Eichwald, conceived as a spatially dispersed constellation articulating the material and emotional breadth of her practice. The stand will present new works on linen, burlap, and canvas arranged in a carefully considered, non-hierarchical composition of mixed scales. Rather than privileging a single focal point, the installation encourages sustained looking through rhythm, repetition, and proximity.

Eichwald’s choice of substrate plays an active role, with the textures of linen and burlap shaping both surface and affect. The selection encompasses her recurring imagery with fragments of bodies, domestic interiors, tools, garments, and cinematic details drawn from film stills, literature, memory, and everyday observation. Operating through mood rather than narrative, the works function as discrete yet interrelated moments that accumulate emotional resonance. Taken together, they form an immersive, in-the-round environment in which romance, longing, detachment, and reverie are registered materially and atmospherically, privileging intimacy, perception, and sustained attention.
