REVIEW: PASTICHE, PARODY & PIRACY AT COB GALLERY

The graphic designer in me can’t help but be drawn to a good bit of parody. In fact, appropriation is one of the first things you learn at Art School; so I was delighted to see an exhibition had been created featuring my favourite ‘genre’.

 

Inspired in part by the threat to destroy artist Miriam Elia’s brilliant book We Go to the Gallery (extract featured above) by Penguin UK, Elia, curator Camilla Ellingsen Webster and cartoonist Jeremy Banx decided to celebrate the act of ‘Pastiche, Parody and Piracy.’
